Overview

The Preconstruction Coordinator assists the bidding of construction projects by providing support to the Preconstruction Director, Manager and Engineers. The Preconstruction Coordinator will play a key role in departmental initiatives and improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting P-file set-up process
  • Setting up and organizing documents in Planswift and/or Autodesk
  • Managing SmartBidNet and/or BuildingConnected sub-list data
  • Managing subcontractor qualification process and platform - Compass
  • Saving and organizing documents within P-Files

The Preconstruction Coordinator provides support for:

  • Executing preconstruction processes and procedures
  • Creating and uploading bid solicitations
  • Collecting and analyzing subcontractor bids
  • Creating presentation, interview, and RFP proposal materials
  • Scheduling, facilitating and documenting subcontractor buyout meetings and Pursuit Post Mortem with Pursuit Team
  • Providing subcontractor bid results and feedback
  • Conducting subcontractor prequalification process
  • Confirming project location licensing requirements
  • Reviewing project location tax requirements
  • Pipeline forecasting
  • May be asked to serve as a mentor to new hires during onboarding
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction principles/practices preferred
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office suite and SharePoint 

 

Working Conditions 

  • The Preconstruction Coordinator’s work is primarily performed indoors out of a main office; occasionally outdoors in various weather conditions with some exposure to health or safety hazards, including noise level may range from moderate to loud.
  • Light physical effort is required, including the handling of objects up to 20 pounds and some standing, walking, sitting, talking and/or hearing.
  • Construction site will change or vary and/or position may require travel.
  • Environment will be demanding and fast paced
